Antibes – History, art, and views of the Mediterranean Start your day in Antibes, a charming coastal town rich in history and artistic heritage. Explore the Provençal market, admire the medieval ramparts and contemporary art, and enjoy breathtaking views of Cap d'Antibes. Your guide will explain the history of the Antibes citadel, whose construction began in 1565 during the reign of King Charles IX to protect the town from maritime attacks. Today, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the town and the Mediterranean Sea. Picasso Museum (entrance fee not included – €8) In 1920, Pablo Picasso stayed in Antibes and worked at the Château Grimaldi, which now houses the famous Picasso Museum. The museum has one of the largest collections of the artist's work, with more than 245 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and drawings created between 1919 and 1946. After the guide's commentary, enjoy some free time to explore Antibes at your own pace. Cannes – Glamour and lunch break Next, head to Cannes, famous worldwide for its International Film Festival. Walk along the famous red carpet of the Palais des Festivals (exterior visit only, as the building is closed to the public) and soak up the legendary atmosphere of the festival. Enjoy your free time for lunch in Cannes (meal not included), where you'll find many restaurants offering local and Mediterranean cuisine. After lunch, stroll through Le Suquet, the historic old town of Cannes. Wander through its narrow, shaded streets, browse the seasonal market stalls, and, if you wish, climb up to the Notre-Dame d'Espérance church to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the Bay of Cannes. Saint-Paul-de-Vence – A perfect end to the day End your visit in the charming hilltop village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, one of the most beautiful villages in the south of France.
